Observational drawing can awaken us to the beauty in our everyday experience. Meditative drawing techniques will be introduced to help us slow down and connect through the senses, listening and relearning to see. An emphasis on human being versus human doing will loosen ambition and reconnect us with the purity of the process of making. Documenting aspects of daily life will deepen our ability to appreciate and be inspired by the present moment. Each week a new series of daily sketches will track the variations of a particular place over time such as the kitchen sink, your bedside table or the view outside your window. Our ritual of making will strengthen a connection to your drawing practice and reveal the rich potential of daily life as creative muse.
