ONLINE CLASS: Watercolor: All Things Spring! From Sketch to Painting with Marjorie Glick (FULL!)

Celebrate the unfolding of spring by putting your watercolor impressions in a sketchbook. Because light is fleeting and flowers fade, students will supplement their sketch with reference photos. Often first impressions are a very pure and unfiltered experience of a subject and, if nothing else, it can spark joy of simply seeing and thinking about color. Working from your sketches and reference photos you take, learn to re-imagine these intuitive, observational studies into fully realized watercolors by using watercolor's unique qualities of transparency and flow and a study of color juxtapositions, layering, light and shadow.

Each week there will be a new assignment pertaining to an aspect of spring happening in real-time, During the week, you'll make sketches and take reference photos. In class there will be watercolor demonstrations, time to paint, and we will discuss how to develop your sketches into finished watercolors.
