INSTRUCTOR: Jane Goldman

ONLINE CLASS: Beginning Drawing from Observation

FIVE-WEEK CLASS

Thursdays, November 5- December 10 (no class November 26)

1:30pm – 4:30pm

ZOOM MEETING STARTS AT 1:30pm

Beginning drawing is a nuts and bolts approach to observational drawing, addressing the fundamentals of how to draw what you see.  Drawing what you see, not what you know, requires focus on the present moment and letting go of memory.  The experience of looking is equally important as what appears on the paper.

This class covers materials, doodling, mark-making, contour and gesture drawing, value, perspective, composition and scale.  We will also spend time analyzing masterful drawings.
