Even if you've never created a print in your life, you're going to love this class. Learning a few simple printing techniques will help free your imagination and also teach you more about color mixing than you can imagine! We'll use a gel plate to make stunning, unique prints using acrylic paints. Then we'll see how these prints can be turned into amazing starts for paintings. You'll be creating at least ten to twenty prints and many great ideas about how to continue on your own with this amazingly easy process. We'll also use a few to start some paintings. 

Materials needed:

• a Gelli Plate or similar gel pad, 8" x 11"
• Golden OPEN acrylic tubes of paint:
• Benzomidazilone Yellow,
• Quinacridone Magenta,
• Ultramarine Blue,
• Titanium White,
• Carbon Black

4" Soft rubber brayer, Speedball brand, spray bottle for water, pad of white drawing paper, 11" x 14", blue painter's tape or white artist tape (or other tape that doesn't tear paper when it is removed), paper towels or rags, Freezer Wrap - to use as a palette and as a surface to print on, a variety of textures like doilies, leaves, ribbon, rubber bands, commercially made stencils (www.stencilgirl.com is recommended)
