WATERCOLOR FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS (Just a few spots left!)

November 13-15, 2020

Friday- Sunday: 10AM - 3:30PM

Unlike most watercolor workshops, this one will start at the very beginning!

This workshop is geared towards the absolute beginner and will prepare you for future watercolor classes.

We will begin with learning the basic techniques of color mixing, wash, wet into wet, edge shading and building an image using transparent layering.

You will also develop an understanding and appreciation of how water is used in watercolor.

Water is everything: it is used to create paint movement, spontaneous expression as well as control, and transparency.

Learn how to use value to build up an image spatially and with light and shadow.

Note: if you are not a beginner, you are welcome to take this class as a refresher course but we start at the beginning with basics.

1 hour zoom sessions will alternate between real time demos,practice time and Q and A. We will take frequent breaks to stay fresh.

The class will be structured as follows:

10 AM- 11:00AM :1 hour demo of watercolor concepts/strategies and discussion of work in progress and student goals for the week.

11:00- 12 Painting on your own with individual consults as needed

12-1 Break for lunch

1-2:30- New demo, Q and A

2:30-3:30 Practice painting on your own
