Demystify the watercolor process by exploring concepts and strategies that will allow you to paint with clarity and spontaneity.  We will explore creative ways that layers are used in a watercolor to create transparency, vibrant nuanced color, space, depth, texture and light.  In addition, there will be a review of the basic techniques of wet into wet, washes and color mixing, and an overview of the qualities of opaque and transparent watercolor pigments.  Demonstrations and references to contemporary and traditional watercolor artists are included.
