Description
Portrait Painting from Photographs
Paint your loved ones from photographic references! In this fun class, Daphne will teach you how to get started and figure out creative ways to capture a personality.
Explore a new technique to add to your creative arsenal! Starting with a sketch we’ll to determine the ‘feel’ of the painting, decide what to include or exclude, and learn how to think about the composition without relying only on the photograph. You can even consider adding in an element of collage if you’d like.
All painting will begin as a tonal underpainting in acrylic to establish values and create a monochromatic version of the finished piece.
Daphne will then teach you how to work with glazing in oil over the underpainting. This class is fun and creative! There will be individual attention and direction throughout the workshop.
