Description
Understanding and Exploring Color from Painting Nature
All Levels
Medium: Oil, Watercolor, Acrylics and Gouache
Instructor: Kathleen Jacobs
Understanding color and how colors interact with each other is essential for painters to express themselves. Students will paint outdoors from the natural landscape in the mornings and return to the classroom in the afternoon to make slower intentional painted color studies. Students will explore the use of warm and cool tones to juxtapose and emphasize form and shape, how certain colors neutralize or alter other colors, how light effects hue and more. We will make color charts for future reference. This class will help your color mixing skills, no matter what your medium or level of experience. There will be a slide talk about how the masters such as Matisse, Rothko and Hockney used color in differing ways.
SUPPLY LIST WILL BE ADDED SHORTLY!
