Color Relationships: Opening Your Eyes
As artists, designers, and makers of fine crafts, knowledge of how color relationships is invaluable for expressing your ideas. This demo will introduce the Josef Albers exercises for seeing how colors interact with one another. Albers developed this technique at Black Mountain College and went on to teach this course at Yale School of Art; his methods continue to be taught at art schools worldwide. Using simple materials: magazine scraps, glue, a straight edge, and a razor blade, together we will create examples of how one color can appear as two.
