It’s as true in painting as elsewhere: intensive practice makes more difference than any other single factor. With that in mind, we provide the option to enroll in this morning class and the afternoon figure class which follows for a whole day’s focus on a specific challenge. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced painter, getting “back to basics” might be just what you need to jumpstart your creative process. Ron will encourage students to develop skills through a set of observational painting exercises using either oil or acrylic. This path to finding or strengthening your personal style emphasizes value as the key to form and space, the objectivity and subjectivity of color mixing, ways to achieve correct proportion, using the viewfinder for personal and strong compositions, creative and intelligent simplification, and direct and confident paint application.
