Experimental and Expressive Painting from Nature

Spring is here and it’s time to get the body and hands warmed up and reconnected to the energy and excitement of painting from nature. The aim is to look carefully while painting outdoors, immersing yourself in the moment and losing yourself in the process. We’ll incorporate drawing and collage, small and large scale, and will experiment with some collaborative approaches. Class time will be divided into painting outside and discussion with critique in the studio. We’ll work outdoors at a site convenient to Concord Art and return to the same location through the weekend. The aim is to awaken the spirit of expression inside you and discover a personal approach to painting that you can continue beyond the workshop’s time frame. Students must know the basics of painting and come with an open mind and spirit of adventure!
