Portrait Study from Life in Charcoal and White Chalk

Cyrus Whittier, recipient of the Rockport Art Associations’ Roberta Carter Clark Memorial Award for Excellence in Portraiture, will demonstrate his portrait drawing technique with a live model. He will work on toned paper with charcoal and white chalk and guide the audience step by step through his process. Working from general large shapes to specific, smaller shapes and details, Cyrus will demonstrate the significance of proportion, light, form and value.
