NancyGruskin will share both the process and the materials used in her expressive

portraits of family and friends. She typically starts with a candid photograph as a reference, then freely borrows from both observed and imagined spaces. Gruskin works in water-based media, often in acrylic gouache. She will demonstrate the unique and compelling qualities of this type of paint. Viewers will have an opportunity to experiment with this media during the demonstration. Gruskin will also explain her method of varnishing works done in acrylic gouache on panel, thus eliminating the need to frame behind glass.
