Painting Diptychs and Triptychs: Acrylic Or Oils
All Levels
Jill Pottle
Diptychs and Triptychs have been a tradition throughout history. Contemporary artists continue this tradition by using multiple panels in very unconventional ways, such as Eric Fischl, with his provocative figurative works. Students will study design and composition by creating paintings that expand across multiple canvas supports. A still life set-up will be available if students need inspiration, otherwise participants may decide on the subject and scale of the paintings. Students may create large scale paintings or scale down to two or three small panels to create a single visual work of art. Participants will work in acrylic or oil (no solvents allowed). Be ready to expand your creative ideas across multiple surfaces!
