In this workshop, students learn how to take your pastel paintings to new depths. The instructor demonstrates a variety of underpainting techniques, such as using hard pastels, watercolors, alcohol and water to utilizing an oil wash to create different effects in your overall style. Through instruction and practice students gain an in-depth understanding of each technique. The focus is not so much on the end piece, but on the various ways to begin a painting to make it feel alive and vibrant. Be prepared to learn and experiment with pastel painting. Class enrollment limited to 8.
