Learn how to explore your creative ideas with gesture, layering of color, and mark-making. Students are invited to use a variety of painting and/or drawing materials to explore realism or wherever your imagination may lead you. Experiment and play with a variety of suggested materials or stay with one dynamic combination for the whole class. Materials and techniques may include; watercolor with pastel, oil bars over paint, drawing with charcoal, painting with acrylic, and paint or pastel on raw canvas. I will suggest a variety of interesting supports to work on such as wood, raw unstretched canvas, Yupo and more. Creative exploration of materials and subject matter is encouraged throughout the class.
