In this workshop, students participate in creating historical artist materials from start to finish, which may include processing natural materials to make pigments and inks, tools, making hand-made paper, utilizing animal by-products and cooking with the same ingredients.  We learn how materials in the studio and kitchen share the same ingredients and reflect a similar "nose to tail" mindset to honor the origins of our resources. We discover, make, and taste our experiments! Students are also introduced to basic watercolor and gouache techniques.
